In 2006, I relocated to Maui from Montana, where I was a Maintenance Supervisor for a Fiberboard Plant. I was teaching Scuba on evenings and weekends and decided to try to look for a place to do it full time.
-
I began diving in 1998. The best part is that I get to do what I love, teach and take people diving.
-
I love seeing endemic species and pretty much anything small!
-
In Montana I was very much into the outdoors; diving, hunting, fishing, golf and training Labradors, which I competed in field trials all over the northwest. In my free time here on Maui, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wonderful wife Katherine, scuba diving for fun, spear fishing, hunting with my dogs on Haleakala, golfing, surfing, kayaking and exploring this great place to live and visit.

Why did I move here? Hmmm… Perfect weather, great people, amazing beaches, and of course, the diving is fantastic! I’ve been on Maui for over 12 years and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else… Lucky me!
-
My first dive was over 25 years ago in Mexico. I couldn’t believe how fun it was! To this day, scuba diving remains my favorite activity and I consider myself very fortunate to be able to share my passion for diving with our customers.
-
I am always grateful for whatever the ocean gives me, but these days I mostly enjoy the “zen” experience of a peaceful dive.
-
I was a Park Ranger at Haleakala National Park for four years… I have lots of stories, just ask me about it when we go diving!

I’ve been on Maui for 15 years off and on. I originally came to work in construction, and never wanted to go back.
-
I started diving in Maui 10 years ago. I didn’t like surfing, but felt guilty about not enjoying the ocean.
-
Sharks… The bigger, the better!
-
I just became the world’s best dad!
MICHAEL

-
4 years! Maui has fantastic outdoor opportunities for hiking, diving and snorkeling year round.
-
I started diving in 2013 because I loved snorkeling and diving was the natural progression.
-
Fish fascinate me, but octopus are amazing!
-
I’ve travelled all over the world to all 7 continents and have hiked 20 mountains over 14,000 feet. I was also trained as a professional pastry chef!

I moved to Maui in April of 2016 to be with my wife, who is American.
-
I became a Dive Master in 2014 in Thailand. A year later, in 2015, I became an Instructor.
-
A smile on my guest’s face!
-
I grew up in France, working as an Aviation Technician and travelling the world surfing. I discovered diving during a trip to Thailand and it changed my life. You will always see me on the water (paddling, surfing, kayaking) on my days off!
ERNESTO
Dive Wailea Instructor and Boat Dive Master
Year started with the company: 2021

-
I moved to Maui in 2021 in search of island vibes, poke bowls, beach volleyball, and great diving! I was previously teaching scuba in Thailand but have been coming to Maui off and on for many years and finally decided to make it home.
-
I did my first ever intro dive here on Maui in 2008 and got open water certified in Sydney, Australia in 2009 where I lived and worked for almost a decade. I turned pro in 2018 after leaving a career at Google in order to spend as much time underwater as possible.
-
Favorite little thing are harlequin shrimp. Favorite big thing are whalesharks. Also, I never get bored of boxfish. They just look like they’re having way too much fun underwater.
-
After I quit my job I attended culinary school at the same time as I finished my divemaster course, but decided diving was the better career choice so continued on to become an instructor. Now I just cook in my spare time at home whenever I can stay awake long enough after a full day in the ocean!

When I was 16 years old.
-
A smile and perhaps a ray or two!
-
I lived abroad for 10 years and I can speak 3 languages.

I have been on Maui since mid-2021. I have been diving for a long time, wanted a new experience in the dive industry and found my way out here.
-
I started diving in 2009 when I took it as a class at my university. It seemed like the best PE course to take and then I realized how much I loved it and it kept going from there.
-
My favorite thing to see diving that isn’t in Maui would be Leopard sharks. They are my favorite and can be found in Southern California. I do enjoy finding small things like nudibranch and octopus. But I really enjoy getting to see mantas and white tip reef sharks.
-
I’m going back to school to try graphic design and I know some American Sign Language.

I spent a few winters in Maui when I was young. It was the first place where I found my feet on a surfboard. The island has been calling to me ever since. I moved here in 2023 to work as a dive professional full time and to immerse in all that nature has to offer.
-
I started diving while I was in Thailand working in coral reef and sea turtle conservation. My passion and wonder for the oceans grew exponentially deeper while at depth.
-
Oh my… big fan of octopi and nudibranchs. Also whales!
-
I love heights! Rock climbing, tree climbing, cliff jumping, backpacking steep mountains, sky diving, snowboarding… really any adrenaline adventure will do (executed safely, of course).
